Peeking out of the cave to say hello!

I’ve been writing like crazy this week, fingers flying, words tumbling from my brain. I’m telling you, the cave works. I’m nearly finished with DECEPTION, but I also completed my Christmas short story, which I’m really happy with.

The cave usually means Buffy on the TV, but my Netflix streaming has been hanging up on me in the middle of the night lately. So in the fine tradition of long Thanksgiving weekends, I watched my Lord of the Rings trilogy (extended version.) It took several nights to get through it all, but it made excellent background visuals for my writing. And at the end, I got to watch (and re-watch) one of the best cinematic kisses of all time. That’s Aragon (Viggo Mortensen) and Arwyn (Liv Tyler) after Aragorn’s (awkward!) song. Of course, the best cinematic kiss ever, in my view, is that first kiss against the refrigerator between Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn) and Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton.) I couldn’t find a video, but here’s a (bad) image.Rhys and Sarah Kiss

Any others I’m missing?

And, of course, since it’s the holidays, sometimes I take a break in the cave to do some shopping. Mostly for others, but occasionally I come across something that’s just for me. Look at these two beauties I picked up last week!IMG_0019IMG_0172These are fused glass pendants, created by www.muriwaifusion.com/ The top one is a perfect little tree, and since I’m a LOTR geek, the bottom one looks to me just like the Eye of Sauron! 😀

Okay, no more time for jewelry shopping. I’ve got to flick the switch on the cave’s internet and get back to work.

See you all next week, when I hope to have details on my Christmas story, where and when and all that.

The cave beckons . . .

  1. DB in her cave – music to my ears! And almost done. Can’t wait for “my Cyn” and Raphael having their own novel again!

LOVE the pendants! I have several and get tons of compliments.

That kiss was to die for – thanks for the memory. But now I have to watch LotR again – you got me going – lol

Have fun in the cave. It’ll be interesting to see if LotR subconsciously bleeds through somewhere.

    Happy Holidays!
