CONTINUING TO WORK

As many of you know, we had some distressing news this week. Linda Kichline, my editor and the publisher of ImaJinn Books, had a stroke last weekend. She’s been transferred from the hospital to a rehab residence, but that’s all I know about her health situation so far. Some of you have asked what this means for ADEN’s release, but I don’t know the answer to that yet. Linda was the heart and soul of ImaJinn and unfortunately the only one with a good understanding of the release schedule and timeline. A friend of Linda’s with considerable editorial experience is trying to pick up the threads and figure out where everything stands. She hopes to put out at least the books scheduled for the next few months which would include ADEN, although there will undoubtedly be some delay. Everything after that will be worked out later.

If it turns out that ADEN will delayed, I’ll accelerate my own plans to put out a second volume of Vampire Vignettes. These would be almost exclusively new content, since I’ll be writing them just for the anthology. My hope is to feature some of our favorite lieutenants in these Vignettes. The big guys and gals get plenty of page space, so I thought I’d give the others some attention, and some love. 🙂

I’ll let you know more about both of these things just as soon as I know more. Trust me that everyone at ImaJinn is working hard to make the best of this very bad situation. And I know that all of our hopes and thoughts are with Linda as she fights to overcome this new challenge.

My assistant notified the HUNTED blog tour winners this week, and just as soon as they verify their mailing addresses, I’ll announce the winners and get their prizes out to them. In the meantime, I think a new giveaway is called for. I have two more autographed copies of HUNTED to give away to two winners, and I’m going to make it simple. Here’s what you need to do …

1.Send me an email to either … dbreynoldswriter@live.com OR dbreynoldswriter@gmail.com

2.PUT… “HUNTED GIVEAWAY”… IN THE SUBJECT LINE – Don’t forget to do this, or your entry won’t count!

3.Answer the following question correctly… “What’s the name of Duncan’s first vampire child?”

4.Make sure your email gives me a valid return e-mail addy, so that I can contact you if you’re one of my two winners

5.I’ll accept emails until 12:01 a.m. PST on Sunday, September 1

And that’s it. I’ll contact the winners who will then have to get back to me to verify their mailing address.

I updated my 100 Books in a Year Challenge this week and found I’m at book #99. Since I’ve been listing but not counting the many novellas I’ve read this year, I’m probably well past 100, but I’m playing it straight. Besides, it’s only August. Once I finish my current book, which is Jo Ann Ross’s latest Shelter Bay Novel, Castaway Cove, I’ll hit 100 anyway. Maybe next year I’ll raise my challenge target. 😀

Okay, that’s it for this week. I have to write some ADEN promo stuff to help get the book ready for release, and I’ll let you know as soon as I know anything solid.

xoxo

  1. I’m so sorry to hear about Linda. I hope she does well in rehab.
I’ve always wanted to hear more about the lieutenants, and I hope you include Emelie in the new vignettes book. She is still my favorite.
