REACHING FOR THE KNIVES!?

windy-treesIt was a fairly quiet week here in Southern California … except for the wind, which has been going crazy, and driving everyone else crazy along with it. I think Raymond Chandler described it best …
“There was a desert wind blowing that night. It was one of those hot dry Santa Anas that come down through the mountain passes and curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch. On nights like that every booze party ends in a fight. Meek little wives feel the edge of the carving knife and study their husbands’ necks. Anything can happen.”

I’m not studying the DH’s neck yet, but I’m ready for the winds to stop!

I’ve been working on the new story, in between finishing off the last requirements for LUCIFER. Which means I completed my editor’s few revisions, and sent those back, and then addressed the line edit, and sent that back. Next up will be the copy edit, and then the galley proof. Yep, the work isn’t over just because you send the manuscript in to your editor! I did manage to write the back cover copy, which is good, because my publisher is waiting for all of that to finish the cover. Yay!

exorcistI watched the pilot episode of The Exorcist, mostly out of curiosity. But I’m pretty much sucked in now. My only problem is that it’s network TV, which means no binge watching. 🙁 I’ll have to DVR a few episodes and watch them in bunches. But the pilot was just as scary as the movie. We’ll see if they can keep it up.

book'd This is my weekly reminder that I’ll be doing a reading/signing at Book’d’s Season Finale event on Thursday, October 20th. You can get all of the details, including ticket info, HERE! I hope to see some of my readers there. I’ll be reading from SHIFTER PLANET, but there will be no books on sale at the event. If you want me to sign one or more books, bring them along to the event.

And now, in the last week of September—and where did this month go?—I’m going back to work. I’m just beginning the next story, so there are thousands of words waiting to be written!

xoxo
