I love the color of this cover for the PRINT novella omnibus. My publisher decided to stick with the same couple, and just go with a wow color, which I think they’ve done with this beautiful purple! Release date is now set for 12 August, and pre-order should be up later this week. I’ll send out a special newsletter as soon as the pre-order links go up.
I updated my GoodReads Challenge, but I’m still 6 books behind! WTF? lol Obviously, I’m spending most of my time writing, right?
Okay, so not ALL of my time. My sister and I went to see the new Star Trek movie, and it was great. Action from start to finish, with a plot that’s classic Star Trek. You can really see the cast gelling in this third entry to the re-boot of the series. Chris Pine is just the perfect James Kirk, and his relationship with Spock (Zachary Quinto) and McCoy (Karl Urban) is very natural and believable in this movie. I didn’t quite buy McCoy as a kick-ass rocket/scooter pilot, and Kirk’s decision to send McCoy with Spock on the mission that involved that rocket/scooter was rather forced. But there are touches of the humor that have always been part of Star Trek, and they made me smile. Also Sofia Boutella as “Jaylah” is terrific, and Idris Elba, while hardly recognizable, is great as the villain, Krall. If you like/love Star Trek, or just plain space/adventure movies, this one is for you.
And a final note … anyone who’s been wondering about the Juro/Lucia vignette should pay attention. 😉 The story is likely to make a brief reappearance on the blog in the next couple of weeks. And you know how that works … it appears/it disappears … with very little warning.
And that’s it for this week. I’m going back to Lucifer now. He’s bloodied and battered, but he’s still standing, and Eleanor’s been there to make sure of it.
See you in August (yes, July is almost over!)
xoxo
