A New Review and Squidoo too!

Is is May already? Where did April go? I need MORE TIME! I’m hard at work writing RAJMUND, which means late nights spent typing away on my laptop while other people sleep. I’m a definite night owl and do my best thinking, and writing, after midnight. My circadian rhythm tells me that 4:00 a.m. is just about the perfect time to call it a night (a day?) and go to sleep. Of course, the Real World doesn’t run on my clock, so I expect to be tired for most of the next couple of months.

And since you’re probably wondering about that headline, Michael Moore, a professional ghostwriter from Ontario,Canada, has written a review of RAPHAEL, and created a “lens” for the Vampires in America series on Squidoo. Squidoo is a popular on-line publishing platform and community with nearly 900,000 personal “lenses.” Lenses are pages, kind of like flyers or signposts or overview articles, that gather everything the lens creator knows know about something and, as they say, “snaps it all into focus.” Hence the term “lens.”

It’s a pretty interesting concept, and, may I say, a good review! I also did an interview with Mike, so experience something new and different and go on over to Squidoo, read Mike’s review and my interview and let him know what you think. Here’s the link to RAPHAEL’s Squidoo page!

I’m tallying the April comments now and will draw the monthly winner later today. There will be a new contest for May, just as soon as my brain catches up to the reality that it REALLY IS May!

Thanks to all of you out there who continue to buy and read RAPHAEL. This is a dream come true.

Creepy Fact for Today: Truffles are actually more valuable than gold, going for thousands of dollars an ounce. The Italian recordholder was expected to go for more than $200,000. This is creepy because there’s actually someone out there willing to pay more than $200,000 for a MUSHROOM!

  1. LOL, better be a damn good mushroom.

My natural rhythm is exactly like yours. I’m pretty much exhausted all the time unless I’m on it.

Good luck, and looking forward to more good words.

  2. D.B. – I caught up with you on Twitter – love the website. I’m a morning person actually. I wrote the bulk of my PhD between 3am and 6am each morning. You are lucky you found Squidoo – a fantastic free, social networking platform that you describe very well in your post. I love the sense of community, sharing and unmarketing – a culture created by Seth Godin. This is a great place to build a following for your books. There is even a SquidWho template to build your autobiography on a Squidoo lens.

    1. I discovered Squidoo when Mike invited me to interview, and it looks like a great site. I’ll definitely follow up on the SquidWho suggestion. Thanks!

I’m most definitely NOT a morning person, but I can be when I have to. When I worked in television full-time I was AT work by 4:30 every morning! It was painful, but I did it. The hardest part was convincing my body to go to sleep early enough to get a few hours sleep every night. LOL

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll try RAPHAEL and I hope to see you back here soon.

  3. Great review! Learned something new also. I had not heard of Squidoo. Looking forward to exploring it.

Sorry if this is a repeat. I think I hit a wrong key the first time!! 🙂

  4. I had also never heard of Squidoo and have never eaten a truffle. 🙂

Although I’m a night person I’m currently trying to get up earlier in the morning as I seem to get more accomplished in the day when I do that. Once I’m awake I’m fine, it’s the getting awake bit that’s the toughie.

  5. Squidoo rocks! It takes a while to get the hang of. If you want to have any sort of fancy graphics, you have to learn HTML codes, but it does offer you a place to network and write what you want to write about, which is why I like it. It’s basically my canvas. I get tired of writing what other people want me to write, so it gives me a chance to market and have fun at the same time.

Thanks again for the interview, D.B. I may have to hit you up for another one in the future. LOL

    1. I’d love to do another interview anytime you want, Mike. The lens turned out great and I’m getting lots of feedback from people who loved the interview.
