Don’t forget that RELENTLESS (Cyn & Raphael novella #5) is currently available for pre-order (releasing on October 30th.) You can find all of the pre-order links HERE. And if you’re on Belle Book’s mailing list, you received a nice teaser in your email this past week.
I’ve been working hard on QUINN (Vampires in America #12,) so no movies last week. Although, I will be going to see Blade Runner 2049 this week. Having read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick—which most of you probably know was the story that inspired the original Blade Runner—I was initially quite disappointed. Mostly because they changed the ending, along with Deckard’s entire relationship with Rachel. But I digress. After seeing the movie a second time (and multiple times thereafter) it grew on me as a story in itself, so I want to see what they’ve done with this sequel.I’ve heard glowing reviews from people I trust, and they all say it’s a film that must be seen on the big screen. So, that’s what I’ll do.
I’ve also started working with a trainer at my gym (whew!) The knee I blew out earlier this year has been cleared by both my orthopedic doc and my physical therapist. So now I’m working hard to rebuild the muscles in both legs. I’m going to Antarctica next year, and I don’t want to end up in the freezing water trying to get in or out of a damn kodiak! There’s some motivation for ya.
But long before I venture to the 7th continent, I get to enjoy my favorite time of year in Southern California. There’s always a few final bursts of hot weather, but it’s mostly mild and the tourists have all gone home. Which means I can visit the beach again. No crowds. Just me and a few other souls, enjoying the peace of the ocean. The DH and I used to do this all the time, so it has special meaning for me now. I frequently take a tiny bottle of vodka with me and pour it into the water, just for him.
Okay, that made me sad. So I’m going to talk about Quinn instead. Quinn’s story is flying beneath my fingers. Going to Ireland was exactly the inspiration I needed, and since I always tease the next book at the end of the one I’m writing, I’m now thinking about where my Vampires should take their invasion after Ireland. Because, of course, that’s where I’ll need to visit next. 🙂 I’m thinking Scotland. I already have the set-up in my head, and it’s the logical place after Ireland. Plus, vampires in kilts. Am I right?
And don’t forget Emerald City! No, not the Oz thing, the writers’ conference in Seattle this coming weekend. Just a reminder that I’ll be there, and I’m hoping to see some of my lovely readers there, too. Their PASSPORT to ROMANCE event on Saturday, October 14 (6:00 – 9:00 pm) is open to the public and it’s free. Be aware that there will be NO BOOKS (or anything else) ON SALE at this event. I’ll have bookmarks and pens and other giveaways, but nothing can be sold. So, if you want a book signed, bring it with you!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends and readers in Canada. And to everyone in the U.S., Happy Columbus Day–hope you got the day off!
And now I’m going back to Quinn, because while the story’s moving fast, it’s not done yet!
See you next week!
xoxo
