IGNORING THE WORLD …

Because I’m writing!

I can write almost anywhere. I don’t listen to music when I write because it’s too distracting, but then I don’t listen to anything when I’m writing, not even what’s going on around me. I can sit in the noisiest place and tune it all out. Nothing exists for me but my characters and my story.

Of course, that’s sort of frustrating for the people who have to live with me! It might take a repetition or two for them to get my attention. Heh, heh.

So … Duncan (cool, calm, enigmatic hunk that he is) has just met the lovely Emma. And … What’s that? You’re hungry? Wait. You mean, you expect ME to cook? Well, darn. ::sigh::

Speaking of writing, I received some very positive feedback on my YA NaNo project this past week, so I’ll be doing some work on that over the next couple of weeks to finish the story and polish it a bit. I’ll be writing YA in the daytime and Vampires at night … seems fitting somehow.

Other than that, it’s been a fairly uneventful week. January is frequently like that. The holidays are over and everyone’s waiting for Spring.

I’m still catching up on Season 5 of Supernatural while I exercise and hoping they’ll rerun the whole Season 6 on TV, so I don’t have to wait for the DVD!!!! I need to know what’s happening with my favorite brothers.

And I’m sinking into my make believe world of beautiful vampires (and sorcerers for the YA) every chance I get so I’ll have more stories to tell all of you!

Have a great 3-day weekend if you get one. Try to stay warm. And I’ll see you next week.

  1. I ignore the world when I read. That man I live with sometimes gets tired of calling my name twice and sometimes I get tired of being interrupted. Especially when I’m at a good part. Ok, I’ll be honest, any interruption in a good book can make me want to snarl in irritation. Good thing I can restrain myself or he would have to snarl back at me. 🙂

I’m using my 3-day weekend to format some more ebooks for my new ereader. Maybe one day there will be a standard ebook format and only one DRM format (instead of one for B&N, a different one for Amazon, etc.) so we can read any ebook on any ereader device without jumping through hoops.

  2. I’m new to your website and your books I’ve just finished all 3 of them and i must say i sooo totally loved them all, and i’m happy to hear about Duncan’s book can’t wait.Great work, thank you. 🙂
